About

I’m Beth Rad (she/her), a registered counsellor and EMDR therapist based in nipaluna/Hobart.

The way I work is grounded in collaboration, respect, and a genuine interest in understanding your experience. I value honesty and integrity in the work, and aim to create a space that feels warm and supportive.

I don’t see therapy as something that’s done to you, but something we work through together, at a pace that feels manageable, and with care for what’s emerging.

I have experience working with individuals and couples across Australia, including in rural and remote communities. I’ve also worked within specialist family violence and crisis services supporting people who have experienced complex trauma. This has shaped how I think about safety, relationships, and the wider context we live in.

My work draws on a range of approaches, including:

  • EMDR therapy

  • somatic (body-based) approaches

  • parts-based work (including Internal Family Systems–informed approaches)

  • creative and imagery-based approaches

  • skills and values-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me adventuring, doing extreme gardening (if you live on a steep Hobart block, you’ll know what I mean!), doodling, cooking Persian food, or snoozing on my Shakti mat.
